Baby burns to death

FRANCISTOWN: A two-year-old baby boy was burnt to death on Tuesday morning at Newstands location while playing outside the house with the neighbours four-year-old son.

The mother of the baby was allegedly taking a bath inside the house when the incident occurred. According to superintendent Rodney Nkokwe of Kutlwano Police, the baby was burnt to death in the fire that had been allegedly caused by the older boy while playing with a dilapidated wardrobe outside the house.

The fire was spotted by a neighbour who raised the alarm in alerting the mother of the child. Supt Nkokwe said the mother and the neighbours where able to put out the fire and rushed the baby, who was severely burnt, to the hospital. He was certified dead on arrival at the hospital.
