The incident occurred at a local bar where the duo had gone out to entertain themselves and imbibe for the night. No.2 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Paul Oketsang said the 20-year-old boyfriend allegedly witnessed his girlfriend having a chat with another man. The conversation, according to the police chief, did not sit well with the boyfriend as the partners ended up having a misunderstanding that led to a fight. “Whilst arguing, the angry boyfriend allegedly stabbed his girlfriend with a sharp object twice on her left shoulder blade. The victim was rushed to Maunatlala clinic and was later referred to Palapye District Hospital where she is currently hospitalised,” Oketsang revealed. “The suspect has been arrested and police have seized the alleged weapon, whilst investigations into the matter are ongoing. The suspect has been charged with unlawful wounding and will this week appear before Palapye Magistrate’s Court for arraignment.”
