FRANCISTOWN: A 37-year-old-man of Marobela village appeared in court on Tuesday for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl.

According to the state, Ndabona Amos, 37, raped the teen on February 20, 2021, in Marobela. The prosecution argues that Amos and another suspect, who is still at large and believed to be a Zimbabwean, allegedly raped the girl after they forcefully entered the house in which the victim and another were sleeping.

Amos, who is out on bail, and his accomplice allegedly took turns raping the minor who was the eldest of the two girls sleeping in the house. Prosecutor Janet Mothowakgosi applied for a case management conference to be set in the matter, which Senior Magistrate Thapelo Buang set for March 1, 2022.
