A year to call politicians to account

They year 2014 is one of those where politicians will be pushed to the limit of their imagination in luring eligible voters to look upon them favourably.

 In a country that is bursting at the seams with corruption, nepotism, outright cronyism, unemployment, and widespread poverty in the midst of plenty, most politicians will once again put on a show of unbelievable irrelevance in their quest to win the support of voters.

In the near term, many voters will repeat phrases of regret with a tired tone of acquiescence. “I voted for him because he promised me a job,” they will say. “But after he got what he wanted, he has hardly looked at me twice. I am the one who campaigned for him, but he doesn’t even talk to me now.”
