Residents of Tshikinyega ward in Mahalapye are reeling in shock after a 74-year-old woman was seen hanging from a tree inside the family homestead suspected to have committed suicide.
Her body was discovered in the wee hours of Independence Day.
Mahalapye-Central police station commander, Superintendent Moatlhodi Onalenna said the woman was found by one of her children around 3am hanging from a tree in their yard and reported the matter to the police.
"We have since established from his family members that the deceased was not well for sometime something they suspect might have influenced her actions. She was certified dead on arrival at Mahalapye Hospital. We are pleading with people to seek help when troubled than resorting to taking their own lives," he said.
