A 16-year-old girl of Tonota's Christmas celebration was shattered when she was attacked and raped.

The victim was in the company of her age mate walking to the bar at around 3 am, when they were stopped by two men who proposed love relationships to them, but one of the two men later sexually assaulted his 'love interest'. Narrating what transpired, Tonota police station commander, Superintendent Oteng Ngada, said according to the victim and her friend, the other man left the suspect behind when he was still busy pursuing his luck.

"He allegedly dragged her to the nearby bush and raped her. Her friend tried to scream for help, but couldn't get help. Investigations into the matter are ongoing to locate and the suspect who fled the crime scene after committing the offense," he said.
