Besides delivering a mouth watering performance at the first South African (SA) Amapiano Music Awards held at the Sandton Convention Centre last Saturday, talented Motswana songstress Mpho Sebina did not walk away empty handed. Major League DJz’ hit, Dinaledi, which Sebina was featured in, managed to win the Best Amapiano Music Video out of three nominations.

The song was also nominated in the Best Amapiano Produced Song and Amapiano Song of the Year categories respectively. The awards highlighted notable achievers within this fashionable genre. Now that Dinaledi has won, Sebina was proud to have been part of the big act. “Ke lebogela lerato le dithapelo tsa lona (I am grateful for all your love and prayers). We won best Amapiano video of the year last night. Much love to Abidoza and Major League Djz for the collaboration. Danko South African Amapiano Music Awards for a gorgeous evening. Le kamoso. Stay chasing your dreams ngwana wa Motswana, wa mo Afrika.

This win is for all of you,” the Motho le motho vocalist posted on Facebook a day after the big win. Talented twin brothers Major League DJz also took to social media to thank Sebina, Abidoza and Bhengu Khaya for supporting them. With her part in the win and performance at the awards, Sebina, who has been making hits between Botswana and SA, is ready to raise the bar high alongside some of the best players in the music game. Amapiano is a subgenre which has taken over the music industry and the world by storm.
