Mdizo finally releases music video

After releasing his second single titled Utlwa in September, upcoming Kwaito musician Monametsi Thupane also known as Mdizo in the music circles has released the video for the song.

Utlwa music video premiered on Btv last week and it is also available on Youtube. The video was shot in different places around Gaborone like Block 10 and Block 3.  The video was by Ramark and Mdizo.

Mdizo told Showbiz the whole production took three weeks to complete.

“I asked to shoot at BQA underground garage and rooftop.  I also used locations like Abundance Guest House and Revelations Times Ministries,” he said.

Mdizo with his new video, always wanted to think outside the box and come up with work that meets international standard.  As a self-sponsored musician, he highlighted challenges like lack of proper equipment as setback in his endeavour to penetrate the international market.

The 27-year-old- kwaito musician said people don’t show up sometimes for music video shoots as scheduled. Compared to his previous video called Praise, Mdizo said the new video has better quality.

“I had a great imagination and managed to implement it into a video.  This time the video has many clips with different shots in different locations,” he said.

Mdizo said he is hoping to gain more attention and get the platform to expand his music territory.

“This video should change the perception that kwaito music and should now be seen differently,” he said.  Mdizo said he would be taking trips to South Africa to work on his music.  He expressed gratitude towards all those who contributed to his music career thus far.
