A 27-year-old producer and DJ from Francistown, Lebogang Makwinja, has released a six-track Amapiano Extended Play (EP) titled Modern Day Sounds. The EP is currently out on all digital streaming platforms.

Makwinja told Arts & Culture that his music was inspired by a lot of producers from all around the world. He, however, said for the Modern Day Sound EP project, he gives all his inspirational credit to Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa since they were the ones that got him into making Amapiano back in 2019 when the genre had not yet hit the mainstream.

Modern Day Sounds was recorded at Regalia Records and Makwinja solely produced everything top down. “All my Amapiano projects were inspired by the duo. As an artiste and brand, I currently put out my own songs in Amapiano and Hip Hop/Motswako. But when I produce for other artists, I can do any genre the artiste asks for.
