Major Moves Comedy will host the “All Star Comedy Night” featuring comedians from different countries and backgrounds at Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) on October 2.

Tol Ass Mo and a local comedian, Rekunde, will headline the event. Tol Ass Mo (Totally Outrageous Laughter Avantgarde Street Style Mongezi) has become one of South Africa’s well known and most sought after comedians. He has been associated with some high profile brands such as Smirnoff, Converse, Doritos, and Mini Cooper. He also has his own reality show ‘Mo Love’, which airs on DStv’s VUZU. Tol Ass Mo has performed at the Survival of the Hippest Festival in Vienna for Austrian delegates. He was also nominated in the “Best Newcomer” category at the first Comic Choice Awards in 2011.

His material mainly comprises of stories of his childhood, and encapsulates the absurdities that come with living in modern day South Africa. He has been featured on the Aromat Comedy Tour, The Just Because Comedy Festival, Tshwane Comedy Festival, the Homecoming Comedy Tour, Triple O Comedy Show, the Comedy Show Live at Lyric, Metro FM Comedy Experience, Blacks Only and many more.

Tol Ass Mo will be performing for the first time in Botswana at the All-Star Comedy Night.The Maun-based Kelekwang ‘Rekunde’ Mophaleng is amongst the local comedians, who will be performing at the event. Rekunde who is no stranger to local comedy lovers has performed at HICOFEST 2015, Mahalapye Home Coming Comedy show and the 2015 GIMC Comedy Night. Rekunde’s humorous material has been played on top national radio stations such as Motsweding FM in South Africa and RB2. She has also competed in My African Dream competition and made it to the finals.

The show also features Major Moves comedian, Phenyo “The Master” Phaladi from Mochudi. The Master has performed in South Africa at the monthly Tips & Friends show. He was also part of the line-up at the Strictly Come Laughing event. The show will also feature Botswana-based Zimbabwean comedian, Charles Manase, whose stand-up performances include, the Anne Kansiime show and HICOFEST featuring Chester Missing. He has extensively toured with some of the industry’s top comedians and been featured on most of the Major Moves Comedy shows.

He is promising to delight the audience with new material for the All Star Comedy Night. Upcoming comedian Augustus ‘Legusty’ Mokgadi from Mochudi will be given a chance to showcase his fresh humorous material.

Events coordinator, Gaolathe Kediemetse, said: “We have had tremendous support for our past shows from both the public and the media alike. We promise a rocking show with this production as we will be at the bigger, better and award winning GICC.

We have fresh new line-up, fresh new headliners and people must come and experience the best and ultimate entertainment from beginning to the end.”
