Maitisong festival will host the popular Cinderella story with an African take this weekend. In the African context, the Cinderella storyline is renamed Kurana.

It is one of the greatest fairy tales of all time that the Maru-a-Pula theatre has given a pantomime treatment.

“Stunning costumes, shimmering staging and magical music bring this classic tale to life. Set in ancient Egypt in the Kingdom of Peponi, it tells the story of poor Kurana, who was having a hard time with her stepmother and her two spoilt and snobbish stepsisters,” said Maitisong spokesperson, Gao Lemmenyane.
