Gospel music headlines Mochudi independence festivities

Local gospel artist Johnson Pheto will be hosting a gospel festival dubbed Selfless Praise and Worship with Johnson Pheto at Apostolic Faith Mission Hall in Mochudi.

The event will be held on Independence Day (September 30, 2017) at 1830 hours till late. Pheto told Showbiz that the music show was intended to bring together people from different social background under one roof to have an awesome experience in praise and worship.

“This show is intended to be an annual event. It will be the first show of its kind in Mochudi. We intend to grow it bigger and better next year with more partners that includes international artists,” he said.

The gospel singer added that as he aspires to grow the show in future, he intends to maintain the same team of young people to market, promote and advance the event next year and beyond. He added that they also want to help the needy with profits from festival. Pheto is a gospel artist who started his music career in 2009 as a backing vocalist for Kabelo Eric. In 2011 he recorded his first album titled Calvary and in 2016 he recorded his second album titled Emelang Jeso, which is still selling today. His song, Ntate Ke Mang was played on the background of the memorial clips for the country’s late former President Sir Ketumile Masire on Btv.


“I intend to continue with gospel music for eternity. My primary objective is not to only touch lives through music but to also give back to the community in any way possible,” he said.

The gospel show also features some of local musicians such as Fifi, Chris Williz, Joe T, Leah Charity and many more local talents. Tickets are sold at P100 for standard, P180 double, P150 VIP, P280 for double VIP tickets and P50 for children.
