Crme de la Crme at GIJF

Gaborone International Jazz Festival will be a star-studded event fusing traditional jazz sounds, isicathamiya, deep house beats and urban sounds of Hip hop Pantsula(HHP).

Internationally acclaimed Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Jimmy Dludlu are the other obvious eye-catchers in the event slated for April 4 at Serokolwana Lawns just a few kilometres from Mmamashia, along the A1 highway. The event will also see rising South African choir, The Southern Pulse, perform in Botswana for the first time.  A product of Mzansi Magic’s reality choral competition Clash Of The Choirs, Southern Pulse will perform alongside HHP, their mentor.

This gig is expected to attract a cross generation of international audiences.  It will provide a good balance between HHP’s Motswako suited for mostly younger followers, while the older ones will have Black Mambazo.
