My Star fans trash the judges

The popular My Star music show has been growing in leaps and bounds in the past seasons and has a large following. Unfortunately, the show has lately been experiencing unbecoming behaviour from a certain fraction of the audience who rudely interrupt judges while they are delivering their comments.

On Friday it was no different. So disturbing was this behaviour that Sid took the time to talk to the audience about the behaviour, which he described as "very disturbing, to say the least". He asked the audience to respect the judges' time to respond to the contestants' performances.

Sid explained that they welcome criticism, only if it is done properly and with respect, referring to a certain young lady in the audience who was becoming a nuisance to a point where security was put on alert to throw her out if she continued misbehaving.Despite the little unpleasantness experienced during the running of the show, it started with four contestants among them Tumisang who is leaving the show and leaving behind the remaining 18 to battle it out to impress the voters as it runs towards the top 10.

Lolo started the show on a high note. It seemed like it was going to be a great night with the judges impressed with her performance. She sang one of Whitney Houston's songs with her deep

voice. Then it all came crushing down with contestant after contestant performing badly - to a point where Sid even suggested that if the show was  not to be aired on Btv on Sunday as usual, he would be happy because this particular night was the worst night in the history of My Star.

Khumiso, Sesame, Noah, Tankiso, Eunice, Palesa, Tsebekgale, Ontefetse, Vusi, Gaone, Queen and Khumo all failed to impress both the judges and the audience. Some were even told that choosing legend's songs and singing them badly is total disrespect - one being Ontefetse who belted out Gladys Knight's song.

Tebogo, as one of the best contestants in the show belting out Elton John's Sorry, seems to be the most redeemed in the show, despite being told to put in more effort and give the audience something different from her normal singing.Harley also came in with Tina Turner's Rolling In The River, which impressed the judges.Ralph's performance of Bob Marley's One Love gave the audience something to smile about and dance.
