FCTVE students, management smoke peace pipe

FRANCISTOWN: Management and students at the newly established Francistown College of Technical and Vocational Education (FCTVE) have smoked the peace pipe after a boycott of classes that brought the institution to a standstill last week.

The students boycotted classes, citing poor college management. In an interview with Mmegi, Student Representative Council (SRC) president Russia Mokoduwe said there has been "a lot of positive changes" since they demonstrated.  He said that showed that the management had been taking them for granted, but he was now happy that the petition helped to speed up the resolution of their grievances. Mokoduwe also emphasised the issue of the catering company saying it is the only issue that is still unresolved.  He said they would have to be patient because the college principal Fisher Ntshebe promised them that by April the company's services would be reviwed.

"The school management has told us that they were in contact with the Attorney General's Chambers in so far as laws of contract are concerned.
