The Bank of Baroda robbery case could not be heard yesterday because regional magistrate (South) Lot Moroka was unavailable.

According to the Regional Magistrate's Office, Moroka was attending a workshop. Further, it is not yet clear whether the Mzwinila brothers, Michael and Edward have been extradited from the South African prison where they were being held for another matter. Surtee and her two sons and a family member, Maureen Moseki, are the accused persons in the Bank of Baroda trial that is scheduled for continuation on March 16. The quartet are accused of attempting to rob Bank of Baroda of P1 million and threatening to use violence on the bank's managing director, Kadayam Ramasubramoney. They were given bail awaiting the finality of the Bank of Baroda trial. The Mzwinila brothers are being held in South Africa on suspicion that they broke into River Walk Home Corp and stole electronic equipment.

Their extradition process is being held in Molopo Magistrate's Court at Mafikeng. Edward and Michael were detained last year on suspicion that they were involved in the Home Corp Furniture robbery in which goods worth over P200, 000 were stolen. Their mother, Surtee was also arrested before being granted bail early this year.
