BATLA to hold biennial conference

FRANCISTOWN: Botswana Association of Tribal Land Authorities (BATLA) will hold its 15th biennial conference at Adansonia Hotel from October 11-13.

The conference will be held under the theme, "Transformation of Tribal Land Administration - Towards Global Economic Competitiveness". It will be supported by the Ministry of Lands and Housing, the Citizen Entreprenuaral Development Agency (CEDA) and Debswana.

According to the executive secretary of BATLA, Barati Modibetsane, the conference will bring together various stakeholders in land-related matters. This will include the ministries of lands and housing, agriculture, local government; all land boards, CEDA, Botswana Institute Development and Policy Analysis (BIDPA) and the University of Botswana (UB). "The conference will tackle issues such as the best use of land, globalisation implications to land boards and other internal issues. During the conference, BATLA members will check how they have fared in executing their aims and objectives," said Modibetsane.
