Kgafela reports senior tribesmen for corruption

According to the Sunday Independent, allegations of theft, forgery, dishonesty, an assassination plot and corruption involving more than R1 billion have reached Pretoria's graft busting agency, the Hawks.The publication says Kgafela accuses his uncle, Kgosi Nyalala John Pilane and Bakgatla-Ba-Kgafela Traditional Authority (BBKT) staffers - chief executive officer Meshack Molope, corporate affairs director Lorraine Masipa and attorney Wycliffe Mothuloe - of stealing and failing to account for the tribe's properties in the affidavit sent to the Hawks.

Nyalala allegedly concluded a R340 million deal with a company between 2007 and 2009, but did not pay tax to the South African Revenue Service (SARS). Hawks spokesperson McIntosh Polela has confirmed that they are investigating the senior members and employees of the Bakgatla tribe. However, the accused have dismissed the allegations as "unfounded" and "malicious".
