One of the soldiers convicted in the state-sponsored murder of John Kalafatis in 2009 - Dzikamali Mothobi's woes are far from over as he is named in another case currently before the courts.

A week after he was convicted along with three of his army colleagues Boitshoko Maifala, Ronnie Matako, and Gotsosamang Sechele, Mmegi has established that he is the Military Intelligence operative who is cited in a civil case by former deputy Commander of Botswana Defence Force Major General Pius Mokgware. He is cited together with his bosses - Commander of BDF Lieutenant General Tebogo Masire, and Lieutenant Colonel Bana Pilane.

Mokgware is suing Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC), the Attorney General's Chambers and the BDF for P6 million for unlawfully accessing his private cellphone conversations. The AG is cited as first respondent, Masire as second respondent, Pilane as third respondent, Mothobi as fourth, and BTC as fifth respondent. A BTC/beMobile employee Modise Mokgathong is also cited in the case as 6th defendant, for allegedly passing information to the army.
