BNF committed to opposition unity

The Botswana National Front (BNF) would like to distance itself from the allegations that were raised in Mmegi (Vol 28, No 88- dated 16th June, 2011) in an article entitled "BNF's Commitment to opposition unity in doubt".

We would like to make it clear that the BNF is committed to the cooperation project. At its Congress held in Mochudi last year, the party members instructed the Central Committee to negotiate with other opposition parties with a view to establishing a united opposition against the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

Our negotiating team has the full mandate to negotiate any model of cooperation with other parties.   The party was therefore shocked with the article that appeared in Mmegi which doubted our sincerity. The article is not only malicious but is also intended to drive a wedge between the BNF and other opposition parties.
