Voices for a return to competitive football have been growing louder of late. With the coronavirus (COVID-19) delivering a crippling tackle on the country’s beloved sport, a return for fans to the stadiums appears remote. While in other countries football has steadily returned, locally the absence of fans could sound the death knell, writes MQONDISI DUBE

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) leadership has remained resolute about delaying the resumption of football action.

The football grounds fell silent in March, when all sporting activities were suspended amid the COVID-19 menace.
