Debswana employees donate P350,000 to assist communities during COVID-19

As COVID-19 continues to cause major socio-economic challenges around the world, Debswana employees have sought to play their part by donating a total of P 350,000 in cash and in kind from their personal funds to assist the underprivileged members of communities around our operations.

Employees have so far donated various items ranging from cash, sanitizers, thermometers, Jojo tanks, hand wash basins, food hampers and toiletries at villages such as Xhumo, Makoba, Xere, Rakops, Mosu, Maboane, Maokane, Betesankwe, Tsonyane, Kedia Primary School and Sese Primary School.

Departments that contributed to various COVID-19 relief efforts are Finance, Internal Audit, Ore Processing, Human Resources, H2 Projects and Mining. In addition to Debswana’s various community investment interventions, the Company further encourages employees and Business Partners to complement the company's Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme by volunteering their time to assist communities.
