Thamaga police confirmed they are currently investigating an incident in which the local Choppies Supermarket was robbed on Sunday.

“We are investigating a case of robbery whereby three men wearing balaclavas entered Choppies around 8.05pm after its closure,” says a statement from the police.  The statement added that the men kicked open the doors of the store before proceeding inside where they stole tills containing cash, which was yet to be set in figures.

The men are said to have fled in a black Toyota Corolla car and are suspected to be Batswana because they are said to have spoken in fluent Setswana in the course of the robbery.  According to the statement, no one in the shop was harmed except for one of the perpetrators who got knocked down by a passing vehicle leading to suspicion that he must have sustained an injury in the process.
