Vikings lose court case

Vikings Softball Club have lost a case in which they sought to be allowed to register for this year's Phikwe Extravaganza tournament. The Botswana Softball Association (BSA) had barred the club from registering after citing failure to meet deadlines.

Vikings then took the matter to the Lobatse High Court, where they sought an interdict to halt the qualifiers, pending the outcome of an appeal lodged with the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC). Details of the appeal were not provided during court proceedings on Friday.

The BSA barred Vikings from participating at this year's tournament, after the club failed to pay the participation fee on time.
