FRANCISTOWN: Despite missing a penalty during the Orange FA Cup Final between Orapa United and Township Rollers at the Francistown Sports Complex on Saturday, Omatla ‘Dunga’ Kebatho walked away P25,000 richer.
This was after he scored his seventh goal of the tournament.
Should he have scored the penalty, Kebatho would have managed been his eighth goal of the tournament during a game that did not live up to expectations despite the 3-0 drubbing that Orapa United handed to Township Rollers.
Kebatho, who was in a menacing mood during the final, said that he was very elated to be the tournament’s top goal scorer.
After he recently lost his place in the senior national team, Kebatho hopes that his rich vein of scoring goals during the tournament would make the Zebras’ coach Teenage Mpote, who is also his mentor at Orapa United, to select him for the Zebras’ upcoming games.
Another Orapa United player, Tendai Nyumasi was selected
It seems like Orapa United will walk away with all the Orange FA Cup awards on offer as their coach, Mpote, whose recent excellent form with the Zebras during the COSAFA Cup that was held in Durban, South Africa, is also in contention of winning P10,000 as the best coach of the tournament.
Orapa United’s goalkeeper Lesenya Malapela is also in contention of winning P25,000 as the goalkeeper of the tournament.
He made crucial saves during the final to ensure that Orapa United kept a clean sheet against Popa Popa, as Township Rollers is also referred to by its hordes of fans.
