Khama sticks to sports patronage roles

Despite recent political developments, ex-president, Ian Khama remains a patron of a number of sports codes, including the Botswana Football Association (BFA).

The national sport associations chose their patrons, and Khama got the nod at a number of codes, including the popular football. He is also a patron of Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) and Botswana Volleyball Association (BVF).

Sport codes choose their patron, normally a high-ranking government official, and Khama was the preferred choice of some codes at the height of his presidency.
