Expelled manual workers trio to sue union

Three expelled members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Amalgamated Local Central Government and Parastatal Workers Union (NALCGPWU) otherwise known as Manual Workers might sue the union, challenging their expulsion.

The trio, Molemise Teemane, Nicholas Sekwenyane and secretary general, Maophala Mokgosi have been expelled from the union following their suspension for allegedly bringing the name of the union into disrepute and disrupting meetings held by the secretariat meant to establish structures at regional level.

Sources have linked their suspension and ultimate expulsion from the union to the intense power struggle between long-serving chief executive officer, Johnson Motshwarakgole and some members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) over the control of the union.
