Elderly woman's murder accused denied bail again

FRANCISTOWN: Two Kgaphamadi men charged with robbing an Area W woman before proceeding to rape and kill her late last year were denied bail again when they appeared in court for mention on Monday.

The accused, Modisakgotla Keganeditse, 24, and Moabi Morwalela, 21, are alleged to have robbed Grace Keakantse, 70, of a mobile phone worth P249 at her place of residence in Area W during the wee hours of November 17, 2018 before proceeding to rape and murder her.  One of the accused tried to regain his liberty, but his efforts did not bear any fruit.

The prosecutor in the case, Sesafeleng Dijeng of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) told Magistrate Kaveri Kapeko that some exhibits in the matter have been sent to the police forensic laboratory in Gaborone for examination.
