Notwane and Police XI played to a dull 0-0 draw in the BTC Premiership encounter at the Molepolole Sports Complex on Friday evening.

The two sides failed to create chances in front of goal. The few chances created were rather wasted efforts by both sides.

Police had their first chance at goal as early as the second minute with winger, Mpho Kgomo beating the offside trap and outpacing his marker, but had his shot saved by the goalkeeper.

Both sides were forced to make changes after Keabetswe Jenamiso and Moshe Tlhaolang collided.

Tonderai Nyakunba and Godwin Sifo replaced the duo respectively in the 10th minute.

Notwane had their first chance at goal with Richard Legwaila trying from outside the box, but saw his effort parried for a corner on the 21st minute. Six minutes later, Sifo flicked a long ball from the back for Tlhalefo Molebatsi, but Lesego Bosekeng collected his effort.

The two sides went into the break level at 0-0.

Six minutes into the second half, substitute Bonolo Fraiser tried with a half volley from a corner kick, but his attempt went over the bar.

On the half hour mark, Legwaila found himself in a good space, but shot wide before Amos Godirwang trying from

miles out but his effort went over the bar.

On the 73rd minute Katlego Masole tapped in a free kick, but his goal was ruled offside. The attempt became the last of the game as the two sides shared the spoils on the night.

“Football is all about taking chances and converting chances. Football is also about having a little bit of luck, but luck was not on our side today. Our boys played very well. Police only had plan A. They played power play. They did not have plan B,” Notwane assistant coach Davis Kopi said after the game.

His counterpart, Mike Sithole of Police XI did not grant the journalists a post match interview.
