Woman found beheaded in Tlokweng

The decapitated body of a young woman was found this morning in Maratanang ward, Tlokweng, in one of the most bizarre incidents recorded by local police.

Police spokesperson senior superintendent Near Bagali said the woman was suspected to be between the ages of 25 and 35 years. The body was found by passers-by, dumped in the bush.

“We received a call this morning informing us that a woman’s body had been found without the head. When we arrived at the scene, we confirmed the hideous discovery. The head of the deceased has not yet been recovered,” he said.

He said there was fresh blood at the scene, suggesting the deceased might

have been killed on Sunday night. He said they were still investigating if she was killed and dumped at the crime scene or killed elsewhere.

The deceased was wearing an orange T-shirt and black track pants. Her identity has not yet been established. Police are appealing to the public to help identify the deceased and assist with investigations.

Members of the public are urged to call Tlokweng or their nearest police station if they have any information that could help with the investigations.
