COSBOTS Applauds Complying Businesses In Francistown

This week we continue our journey on Stakeholder engagement and review milestones on our quest to be visible and transparent to all. Having on the last article highlighted our vigorous efforts to maintain regular engagement with relevant stakeholders in order to have a comprehensive understanding of what is important to them, the team continues to spread the wings beyond the borders of the main City.

Lately, COSBOTS increased their footprint at Francistown where they also attended the Business Botswana Northern Trade Fair. In their unwavering expedition to improve relations with stakeholders the team had their eyes set on education, registration of works and licensing more Users. Speaking at the business forum organized to congregate the businesses, COSBOTS Chief Executive Officer Lesego Selotate enlightened the delegates of their important role in the advancement of COSBOTS mandate and growth of the economy of the country. Selotate implored the businesses to comply with the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act by acquiring relevant licenses and paying for use of copyrighted works. 

He informed the delegates that since inception the Society has managed to execute seven (7) royalty distributions which showed the importance for businesses to pay for usage. Selotate highlighted the efforts of his team of reaching out to Stakeholders which he said was crucial in mending fences, improving service and invited delegates to use the opportunity to give feedback and clarity on their expectations from COSBOTS for continued fruitful and harmonious relationships that would see creators fully compensated for their hard labour.
