South African Gospel maestro, Dr Tumi will this weekend grace the Molapo Stanbic Bank Piazza as headliner for the inaugural Gathering of Worshippers.
Born Tumisang Makweya, the Limpopo native is a producer, songwriter, instrumentalist and vocalist also runs a surgery in Mabopane, north of Pretoria.
Dr Tumi is opularly known in gospel circles for his first solo album, Heart of a King, which got him Best RnB Gospel award at the SABC Gospel Music Awards in 2012 where he was nominated in four categories.
Speaking to Showbiz the organiser of the event, Fish Pabalinga promised a memorable event noting that Leap Frog Communications decided to have this show after assessing the market and noticed a
“We need world class gospel shows in our country, this would help grow the industry which surely has the potential locally. With this show we are doing our bit to grow it as there would be local acts performing,” he said.
Dr Tumi would share the stage with Vusi, Tshepo Lesole, DJ Kells and the We Must Praise Choir.
Participants would have a chance to hear songs from his latest album The Gathering of Worshippers, which he launched at a packed 20,000-seater The Ticketpro Dome.
