The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) on Saturday bid farewell in style their party leader, President Ian Khama giving him a double cab Toyota Land Cruiser, amongst other gifts.

In addition to the presents from the party, Gaborone region gifted Khama a quad bike load trailer, cattle trailer and a generator trailer.  Having received many different gifts including livestock, poultry, generators, farming equipment and many other gifts, the gifts from the BDP are the most expensive Khama has received thus far valued at over P500,000.

Though he expressed gratitude for the gifts, Khama said he wants one more gift from the members - winning the 2019 general election. “I am so happy for the gifts. I really appreciate, but there is one more gift I want from you. I want victory in 2019. I thank you in advance for that gift as I know you will give it to me,” he said.
