The richest dustbin on land

THALEFANG CHARLES
The richest dustbin on land
At the start of last weekend, this dustbin had exactly P50,000 in hard cash stashed inside like trash. The dustbin belongs to the Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services Prince Maele. It is at his unoccupied house at Plot 39044, Block 6, Gaborone. Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) said they got a tip-off about the money in the bin and moved in to raid the house on Saturday morning.
Neighbours said they started noticing the surveillance activities of the plainclothes agents as early as Thursday.
The electric fence around the wall is not working and barbed wire on top of the gate was moved and out of place.

The dustbin is ruined. It does not have the bottom part. It appears that its bottom part was buried in the soil since there are marks of diggings around the wrecked dustbin.
Maele was on Sunday summoned to the DCEC offices to explain the money in the bin and he brought his lawyer Uyapo Ndadi.

On Sunday the once richest dustbin was just a metal scrap not even worthy to carry rubbish and just lying down there with fallen ripe guavas.
