The University of Botswana (UB) management has expressed concern over rampant use of drugs at the institution. Director for Campus Services, Reginald Frank said that though they work hand-in-hand with the police, they are yet to root out the problem at the institution.

“We make arrests on a regular basis of students in possession of drugs. We also try to disperse students when we see them gathering. Some come in cars and take the drugs at playing grounds and run away when they see us approaching,” he said.

Frank said they usually hand the cases to the police and try by all means to find out who is the source.  He said most cases involve small packs of dagga.
