Genius Senyatsos BOMU awards appreciation party thrills

The award-winning Genius Senyatso’s red carpet appreciation party was a great success. It was held at Mountain Valley in Gabane yesterday.

The young Senyatso, who is the son of the late jazz maestro Duncan Senyatso, proved to be walking on his father’s shoes after winning the Best Jazz Artist 2017 award at the Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) awards recently. His award was the first in the country to ever be sponsored with more than P100,000.

Obakeng Sengwaketse, who goes by his first name on stage, opened the event with a fired up performance. The young Ho Tseba Modimo artist who sings gospel was able to start the event with a powerful performance giving other artists morale to outdo themselves. As a norm, Moroka Moreri whose controversial poems won him a large fanbase from different walks of the country, kept the audience intrigued with his beautiful poetic rhythms.
