Kwese launches premium Free Bouquet

Pan-African broadcaster, Kwesé has added an additional bouquet to its offering to be known as Kwesé Free bouquet. This comes after the broadcaster launched its pay TV network Kwesé TV satellite broadcasting service in Gaborone recently.

In an interview with Showbiz, the marketing and public relations manager, Shadi Linchwe said the ‘always on’ bouquet would feature at least five channels that are usually only available to pay subscription customers.

“They will include Kwesé Free Sports Channel, which offers live sports games from the English Premier League and the NBA. There will also be general entertainment, news and some religious channels, all for free, as long as someone has a Kwesé decoder.

“Customers who use the Kwesé Free boutique will also have the option to watch an additional 70 channels by simply buying a three, seven, or 30-day window, at a moment’s notice using Orange Money, paying on the website or by visiting any BotswanaPost office. This is a unique approach being pioneered by Kwesé TV, which aims to give customers total flexibility and control, whilst also getting value for money,” she said.

Linchwe explained that Kwesé is the fastest growing broadcast network on the continent, available in all English speaking countries in sub-Saharan African through its various products, namely Kwesé TV, Kwesé Free Sports and Kwesé Play. To access Kwesé Free bouquet, simply purchase a Kwesé decoder and register as a Kwesé TV subscriber. She said Kwesé TV was available from Kwesé branded stores at African Mall, Block 6 (opposite Marriot Café), Mogoditshane SupaSave Mall and Lobatse. Kwesé TV can also be ordered through the Kwesé eStore or simply find a dealer on the Kwesé website. 

“We believe that once you purchase a decoder it belongs to you. Instead of switching you off completely if you haven’t paid for a subscription, we are offering viewers the

free bouquet. We see the concept as a simple one, why should owning a decoder be any different from owning a mobile phone? Once you purchase it, it belongs to you and it should be something you can use whether or not you choose to pay for our service,” said Econet Media Group CEO and president Joseph Hundah.
