Rugby official, coach exchange blows

Frustrations within rugby reached a new low last week when Sevens coach, Shine Gabatladiwe and Botswana Rugby Union (BRU) vice president-technical, Sean Irish exchanged blows in full view of players during a training session.

Irish’s decision to replace the coach with Andrew Paxinos infuriated Gabatladiwe. The decision to replace Gabatladiwe was later rescinded.

Gabatladiwe told Mmegi Sport that there was no communication from Irish to him regarding technical changes.
