The Miss Botswana Top 12 finalists were in the third phase of the grand finale bootcamp where they were engaged in different activities at Cresta Hotel last weekend.
The finalists went through different activities and mentorship sessions such as public speaking, pageantry walk, dance choreography and team building. The contestants were under the mentorship of experts in the various fields as they prepared them for the grand finale.
The models went to camp on Friday evening and they spent the whole weekend under intense drilling in different pageantry aspects that would be used during the grand finale. “The girls have been involved in different activities in this current bootcamp,” one of the pageant coordinators, Tsaone Mogapi said. “They are learning and grasping everything that they are being taught by their mentors.”
When Showtime arrived at the bootcamp, the models were undergoing a photoshoot session for their profiles. The shoot was quickly followed by a pageantry walk rehearsal that was facilitated by the Miss Botswana organisers, Botswana Council of Women.
In the walk they all displayed experience on the ramp, but
“As you can see they are all experienced and the competition is tough because they are all looking at the title and remain focused. Above all, the young women have grown to know each other more because they are bonding. The mood is lively in the camp and there is that spirit of sisterhood,” Mogapi said.
She added that next weekend it would be the last bootcamp for the models, as they will camp till the grand finale where they will battle for the crown.
However, the venue for the pageant has been changed from Boipuso Hall to the University of Botswana Sports Arena for unexplained reasons.
