Miss Women Empowerment 2016 visited women in prison for the first time

Miss Women Empowerment management and contestants held a walk to the Gaborone Women Prison to have an interaction session this past weekend.

The purpose of the interaction session was to give the contestants an opportunity to impart inspirational messages, offer moral support and appreciate the spirit of humanity.

The founder of the pageant, Letsweletse Motshidiemang highlighted that the main focus of the pageant is to motivate and uplift women and going beyond to reach women in prisons. “Women in prisons are mothers, sisters and wives. They also need love and empowerment from other women. That’s why one of our main objectives is to reach out to them,” he said.
