BMD intervenes in youth league tiff

The national executive committee (NEC) of the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) was to meet with the youth’s NEC yesterday to discuss the controversial decision to postpone the elective youth congress.

On Saturday, the BMD youth league NEC met and resolved to postpone the congress which was to be held in Ramotswa next Saturday.

The decision was met with resistance and the debate on social media especially, saw party activists divided. Amongst those who opposed the postponement, despite his signature appended to the press release to the effect, was the youth league president, Phenyo Segokgo, who wrote on his Facebook page that he would ensure that the congress went ahead as planned.
