Steez’s uncle, Logic Sebopeng confirmed the tragic news to Showtime. According to Steez’s cousin Neo Modisane, the former Btv presenter was coming from Maun after attending the Mascom Derby last weekend. She said his car had mechanical problems, which he had to fix before making the trip back to Gaborone. She said Steez’s car caught fire and burnt after it was hit by the other vehicle. She said Steez was alone in the car.
Steez, who was also known as Mochine O Ichenchang, was a seasoned rapper, radio and television presenter who was born and raised in Mahalapye. He rose to fame after he was chosen as a presenter for Btv’s Meribo magazine show in 2003. At the time he was chosen alongside the late Kago Setshogo and Pauline Mabelebele. The passionate rapper’s show was called the Unauthorised and it was strictly about Hip-Hop. After leaving Meribo, Steez strengthened his calling as a TV presenter when he joined Btv’s Flavadome a year later and cohosted the show with Mabelebele from 2005 to 2007.
