Man faces charges of murdering his father

LOBATSE: Magistrate William Modise yesterday morning referred bail application to the High Court in a case in which a 34-year-old man, Tshepo Gabashe faces charges of murdering his father.

Gabashe who originates from Mokgomane is alleged to have on August 27, 2016 in Mokgomane village, stabbed his father, Olefile Gabashe with a knife to death following an argument and also used a tyre lever in committing the crime. In October 2016, a psychiatric evaluation report ruled that the accused person was fit to stand trial.

The State prosecutor, sub inspector Dumani Chakasala said the police needed a court order for social workers to assess the accused person’s residence before admitting him to bail.
