December 1 is an important day in the health and wellness calendar as it marks international commemoration of campaigns against the spread of HIV/AIDS, as well as intensifying unity in giving support to those living with HIV and AIDS.

Even though anybody can get HIV/AIDS, youth are some of those who are at high risk of contracting the costly virus. Below are some of the socio-economic factors that can put youth at high risk of being infected or reinfected with HIV:
