Residents of Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) low cost houses known as ‘Samaphaleche ‘ in Jwaneng are likely to be relocated to a new place in five years.

The Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Development, Nonofo Molefhi told Parliament this week that given the processes that have to take place before the current tenants are relocated to a new place, a period of a maximum of five years is envisaged before the matter is concluded.

Molefhi was answering a question from Jwaneng-Mabutsane MP, Shawn Ntlhaile who wanted to know if the minister was aware that the BHC low cost houses in a high density Unit 1 at Jwaneng town, leased to Jwaneng Town Council (JTC) are not electrified and what action is being taken to electrify them and if there are any plans to upgrade them.
