Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTCB) Boxing Club has shown early intentions of walking away with the 2016 Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) National Championship title.

DTCB  accumulated six points during the preliminary round held at the University of Botswana (UB) over the weekend. The club had five boxers including a woman boxer, Keamogetse Kenosi, who overcame Aratwa Kasemang of UB in the women’s light weight (57-60kg). Prisons finished second with four points. Seven clubs, UB, Eastern Military Garrison, Glen Valley, Mafika, Maun, SSKB and Thebephatshwa finished with two points each. Gantsi has only managed a single point from the weekend assignment.

The competition produced a lot of upsets with Tumelo Ramorathodi of Thebephatshwa eliminating national team boxer, Otukile Mohammed of Mafika in the early stages of the tournament in the fly-weight category (52kg).
