DTCB seize early initiative

DTCB accumulated six points during the preliminary round held at the University of Botswana (UB) over the weekend. The club had five boxers including a woman boxer, Keamogetse Kenosi, who overcame Aratwa Kasemang of UB in the women’s light weight (57-60kg). Prisons finished second with four points. Seven clubs, UB, Eastern Military Garrison, Glen Valley, Mafika, Maun, SSKB and Thebephatshwa finished with two points each. Gantsi has only managed a single point from the weekend assignment.
The competition produced a lot of upsets with Tumelo Ramorathodi of Thebephatshwa eliminating national team boxer, Otukile Mohammed of Mafika in the early stages of the tournament in the fly-weight category (52kg).
The recent disclosure by the IEC that 2,513 registrations have been turned down due to various irregularities should prompt all Batswana to meticulously review the voters' rolls and address concerns about rejected registrations.The disparities flagged by the IEC are troubling and emphasise the significance of rigorous voter registration processes.Out of the rejected registrations, 29 individuals were disqualified due to non-existent Omang...
