As many as 25 opposition activists were paraded in Moshupa on Saturday as Vice President Mokgweetsi Masisi, also the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) chairman celebrated his 2014 constituency victory in grand fashion.

And looking on was President Ian Khama who once again emphasised that Masisi’s main mission has been to wow the opposition activists into the BDP fold, adding that Masisi has been doing that assignment with distinction.  Khama said a recent tape leak played by local radio stations depicting his Vice President on a recruitment drive should not deter Masisi from his sterling job.

“They are leaking the tape because they are aware that you are causing them sleepless nights; continue recruiting them, whether they are recording you on tapes or not,” Khama said. Amongst Masisi’s captures was the surprise return to the party of its former youth wing chairman Dithapelo Tshotego, who had decamped to the opposition the Botswana Congress Party (BCP).
