Talented local songbird, Lizibo finally told his musical story in front of a fully packed audience at Maitisong Theatre over the weekend. As he reminisced to the time when he was starting his musical journey, the 31-year-old singer appreciated everyone who helped him reach stardom.

To the much anticipation from the crowd, the ever-fashionable Lizibo finally arrived on stage and performed a Kalanga song as a symbol of his roots. In the same song, the artistic Old Naledi group Mafitlhakgosi joined him and they soon transformed the stage into a dance floor. After the performance of the song, Lizibo told everyone that his grandmother, who was also part of the audience, used to sing the same song when he was a little boy.

Lizibo’s tale began to unfold when he mentioned that one Afro Pop singer once told him that he was going to be a star. He then proceeded to perform Selemela and all of a sudden the legendary Evans ‘Mr Tagg’ Modubule came on stage and everyone was excited to see the man who has not been on the local scene in years. Mr Tagg, who is currently based in South Africa, took over and finished the performance of Selemela, a song that used to be a hit back in 2006.
