Student charged with defilement

JWANENG: A 20-year-old student, Andrew Kennetseng of Mabutsane has been charged with defiling a 13-year-old girl on New Year’s Eve in 2014. Kennetseng appeared before Magistrate Basetsana Keakantse last week.

Kennetseng, who was 18 years old and in Form Five at that time, is accused of having carnal knowledge of the minor, with the full knowledge that she was a person under the age of 16 years.

The girl’s mother testified in court that her minor daughter went missing on January 2, 2014 and she looked for her and followed her steps which led to a bush.
