Thobo cultural festival returns

After failing to pull crowds last year, Thobo cultural festival will return again this year with the second installment of the cultural event. This year’s event will be held at the Lobatse Town Park on April 23. With cultural events now blooming and becoming successful, the show organiser, Tshepho Thedi, told Showbiz that their objectives are different from the other events.

“We are raising funds for vulnerable children in Lobatse and the surrounding areas. We also want to empower young entrepreneurs,” she said. Thedi said the event will promote indigenous culture including poetry, song and dance.

“We want to promote Setswana traditional music in collaboration with popular music genres like jazz and gospel into the mainstream entertainment industry,” she said.
